The Director of Marketing at Severalnines will be expected to craft and execute strategies that drive traffic of high-quality leads to our website to contribute to the growth of our community user and customer base. The Director will also develop the strategy to craft content that both acquires, converts, and educates our current and potential customers before, during, and after the sales process. This content will fall into many different formats and channels but be aligned with a central message. The Director will lead the Marketing Team and be responsible for the web properties, social channels, campaign management, understanding the market and be Marketing’s representative on the Severalnines Management Team.
Roles & Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Lead individual, weekly team, and offsite meetings to generate ideas and plans to drive Severalnines growth
- Act as primary Marketing project manager, overseeing major initiatives and projects to ensure efficiency and that they are completed on time and on budget
- Act as liaison to the Sales Team to drive alignment and provide marketing support for our sales reps and customers.
- Manage the overall Marketing budget
- Plan and represent Severalnines both online and at events
- Create templates and processes to enable the marketing team and extended teams to be more efficient in crafting content or executing projects
Product Marketing, Messaging & Research
- Primary manager of marketing campaigns creating documents, scheduling meetings, creating and maintaining the monthly marketing calendar.
- Collaborate with the product development team and sales team to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target buyer personas.
- Help with writing and reviewing content for Severalnines’ web properties
- Creates the positioning and launch content for Product releases
- Drive Partnership Marketing efforts
- Drive the creation of new company messaging and maintain & update existing messaging as needed
- Perform market research. Take market trend information and make recommendations on new functionalities to improve or be included in Severalnines products
- Create and Maintain Paid Search and other Paid Advertising Programs
- Social Media Marketing strategy and posting. Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content.
Content & Email Marketing
- Develop the Severalnines content strategy to ensure that we are attracting the right type of users for our products
- Write non-technical blogs, web pages, case studies and other content as requested
- Oversee Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts and lead any related projects or initiatives
- Craft and manage guest writer / thought leader programs to utilize outside resources to create new and engaging content for severalnines.com
- Work with our content team to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience and supports marketing goals.
- Oversee overall email content strategy including the crafting of email communications such as product emails, patch release emails, newsletters, drip program content, and any other marketing communications
Media & Analyst Relations
- Connect with online technology publications to aggregate our content and place stories about company news and other initiatives.
- Craft press releases and submit manually or through online distribution systems
- Craft & Maintain Analyst Presentations and coordinate Analyst activities
- Identify and Oversee submissions for awards programs
Analytics & Reporting
- Create analytics reports and presentations as requested
- Track, measure, and analyze all assigned initiatives to report on ROI
- Ensure that projects and activities map with company OKRs where relevant

Previous Work Requirements
- 5-7 Years of Marketing Experience
- Has lead a Marketing team and has experience developing growth strategies
- Ideal candidate would have previous experience with IT software
- Ideal candidate would have previous experience presenting at conferencesIdeal candidate would have previous experience editing content
- Ideal candidate would have experience with SalesForce and Pardot
- Open source database knowledge a plus
- Drupal/Wordpress Experience a plus
Educational Requirements
- College degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Management, Marketing or possess 5-7 years relevant experience
- Technical Certifications a plus
